چکیده
The tremendous input of ammonium and rare earth element (REE) ions released by the enormous consumption (NH4)2SO4 in situ leaching for ion-adsorption RE mining caused serious ground surface water contamination. Anaerobic oxidation (anammox) was a sustainable technology that can reduce this nitrogen pollution. In research, situ, semi ex method inoculation included low-concentration (0.02 mg·L?1) high-concentration (0.10 lanthanum (La)(III) were adopted to explore effective start-up strategies starting up anammox reactors seeded with activated sludge sludge. refrigerated 30 days at 4 °C investigate effects La(III) during period low-temperature. results showed enrichment addition reduced length time required reactivate until it reached state stable activity high removal efficiency 60–71 days. promoted formation floc compact structure enabled resist adverse low temperature so maintain abundance AnAOB microbacterial community diversity refrigeration period. concentration cellular percentage decrease from 54.60 ± 6.19% 17.35 6.69% an unrecoverable level post-refrigeration.

Start-up of Anaerobic Ammonium Oxidation (Anammox) from Conventional Return Activated Sludge in Up-flow Anaerobic Sludge Blanket (UASB) Reactor for Autotrophic Nitrogen Removal from Wastewater
A bench-scale up-flow anaerobic sludge blanket (UASB) reactor was applied to start-up the anaerobic ammonium oxidation (Anammox) process from conventional return activated sludge. The reactor was operated for approximately 170 days and was fed synthetic wastewater containing mainly nitrite ) (NO2 − and ammonium ) (NH 4 + as main substrates. After 106 days of operation, the first evidence of Ana...
متن کاملBiological Nitrogen Removal Using Anaerobic Ammonium Oxidation
ANaerobic AMMonium OXidation (Anammox) is an efficient microbiological process for the removal of ammonia nitrogen from wastewater. Although several Anammox reactors have been operated successfully in European water pollution control plants, there are challenges associated with the process which must be addressed to ensure dependable performance when treating high strength wastestreams in New Y...
متن کاملStart-Up and Aeration Strategies for a Completely Autotrophic Nitrogen Removal Process in an SBR
The start-up and performance of the completely autotrophic nitrogen removal via nitrite (CANON) process were examined in a sequencing batch reactor (SBR) with intermittent aeration. Initially, partial nitrification was established, and then the DO concentration was lowered further, surplus water in the SBR with high nitrite was replaced with tap water, and continuous aeration mode was turned in...
متن کاملBiogeography of anaerobic ammonia-oxidizing (anammox) bacteria
Anaerobic ammonia-oxidizing (anammox) bacteria are able to oxidize ammonia and reduce nitrite to produce N2 gas. After being discovered in a wastewater treatment plant (WWTP), anammox bacteria were subsequently characterized in natural environments, including marine, estuary, freshwater, and terrestrial habitats. Although anammox bacteria play an important role in removing fixed N from both eng...
